# Über Vivo

Vivo ist ein chinesischer Smartphone-Hersteller, der 2009 gegründet wurde. Das Unternehmen mit Sitz in Dongguan gehört zum Elektronikkonzern BBK Electronics, zu dem auch [Oppo](https://www.chinamobilemag.de/marken/oppo.html), [OnePlus](https://www.chinamobilemag.de/marken/oneplus.html) und [Realme](https://www.chinamobilemag.de/marken/realme.html) zählen. Noch vor dem offiziellen Eintritt in den europäischen Markt erreichte Vivo einen weltweiten Smartphone-Anteil von etwa 7–8% und zählte damit zu den sechs größten Herstellern weltweit. Mit mehreren tausend Mitarbeitern ist Vivo heute in über 100 Ländern aktiv und wirbt mit rund 200 Millionen Kunden.

Vivo legt traditionell einen Schwerpunkt auf innovative Kamera-Technologie und modernes Design. Viele Modelle bieten ausgefeilte Haupt- und Frontkameras und Vivo integriert in seinen Geräten ein eigenes Betriebssystem, das stark angepasste Android „FunTouch OS“ für internationale Märkte und OriginOS für den chinesischen Markt. Im Zuge der Einführung von OriginOS 6 wurde FunTouch OS durch Selbiges ersetzt.

Die internationale Expansion von Vivo begann 2014 in Südostasien. Schnell wurden Märkte wie Thailand, Indien, Malaysia und weitere südostasiatische Länder erschlossen, gefolgt von Pakistan, Russland und dem Nahen Osten. Im Oktober 2020 kündigte Vivo schließlich an, auch in Europa mit dem Vertrieb zu starten. In Deutschland kam es später zu diversen Patentstreitigkeiten, was zu einem Teilrückzug von Vivo aus dem deutschen Markt führte. Derzeit bietet Vivo seine Smartphones nur noch vereinzelt via Amazon in Deutschland an und verzichtet auf einen direkten Vertrieb. Einem breiten Publikum wurde Vivo durch das Sponsoring verschiedener Fußball-Events bekannt, darunter auch die Fußball WM 2018 und 2022. Laut Marktforschern belegt Vivo global etwa den vierten Rang unter den Smartphone-Herstellern mit etwa 8% Marktanteil.

Vivo bietet verschiedene Smartphone-Serien an: Dazu gehören die Y-Serie (preiswerte Einsteigergeräte), die modebewusste V-Serie (Mittelklasse) sowie die X-Serie im Premium-Segment (Oberklasse-Flaggschiffe mit Spitzen-Kameratechnik). Ergänzend hat Vivo 2019 die Submarke iQOO eingeführt, die sich auf leistungsstarke (oft Gaming-orientierte) Smartphones fokussiert. Neben Handys stellt Vivo auch Zubehör her, etwa kabellose Kopfhörer und Wearables (Smartwatches).

Da Vivo-Geräte vergleichsweise hochpreisig sind, spricht die Marke vor allem das obere Preissegment an – günstiger positionierte Käufersegmente bedienen in der BBK-Gruppe eher OnePlus oder Realme. Verglichen mit diesen Marken war Realme in Deutschland bisher auch weniger präsent. Mittlerweile legt die Markenbekanntheit auf dem deutschen Markt allerdings langsam zu.

Die globalen Webseiten finden sich unter [vivo.com](https://vivo.com), wobei es für Deutschland unter [vivi.com/de](https://www.vivo.com/de) einen eigenen Auftritt gibt. Stand Oktober 2025 betreibt Vivo in Deutschland keinen eigenen Shop und vertreibt seine Smartphones nur noch über Amazon.
